About Joshua Riley
Joshua Riley, LPC, NCC currently serves as Director of Community Relations at Whitman-Walker Health. Previously he was Senior Manage of Behavioral Health where he managed a continuum of outpatient substance abuse treatment interventions. He has been working with underserved sexual minority populations at the intersection of HIV prevention, substance abuse treatment, and mental health care, for the past ten years. Mr. Riley has participated in the development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of numerous community-based research projects and service programs serving high-risk gay men and transgender women. In Los Angeles, he directed and participated in the development of an outpatient methamphetamine treatment and HIV prevention program, Getting Off. It remains the only evidence-based intervention aimed at treating methamphetamine use and risky sexual behavior among gay and bisexual men. In this role, Mr. Riley co-authored the counselor training manual for the Getting Off intervention which has since been disseminated nationally and internationally.
