Tech Session Presented by Travis English
Gear Up for a Different Future !
The single largest opportunity for energy conservation and savings in future building design is reducing code-required airflows to spaces where they don’t affect patient outcomes and safety.
Come hear 1) What Kaiser Permanente learned from three years of deep research into the standards’ origins and requirements, 2) How you can stay on top of, and help advance proposed alternative standards that could improve air change rates, temperature, humidity, and natural ventilation, 3) How you can prepare for the changes in ways that will deliver big savings in energy costs and greenhouse gases for years to come.
Dinner Session Presented by Keith Davidson, Jeremy Del Real and Gene Kogan
Combined Heat and Power (CHP): chaired by a number of DOE Employees from the CHP Technical Assistant Partnership (http://www.pacificchptap.org/).
Combined heat and power (CHP) is a proven and effective energy option capable of enhancing the nation’s energy efficiency, promoting economic growth and improving the security of our energy infrastructure.
The speakers will present two programs that provide incentives and technical assistance for efficient distributed generation and energy storage. They will discuss the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific CHP Technical Assistance Partnership (CHP TAP) which offers subsidized project engineering support in California, Nevada and Hawaii for businesses and communities looking for the right CHP technology to meet their electric and thermal needs. Also presented will be the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) in the SDG&E service territory, which provides financial incentives for installing clean and efficient distributed generation and energy storage technologies. SGIP is a ratepayer-funded rebate program overseen by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
