Export University...

is a series of courses on international trade topics coordinated by the District Export Council (DEC), a volunteer, non-profit organization associated with the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce. DEC Members are appointed by the Commerce Secretary to provide mentoring on exporting. The objective of the Export University is to enhance the sk8ills of U.S., Busniess to better complete in the global market place.

 

Session Synopsis

This is a three part workshop that will include:

• Metro Export Plan - a result of the Greater Houston Partnership's work with the Global Cities Initiative, a joint project of the Brooking's Institution and JP Morgan Chase. The plan features an analysis of our region's export economy and offers recommendations to help Houston companies expand their business through exporting goods and services around the world. (Presenter: Greater Houston Partnership)   

• The Export Professional Panel, featuring a discussion from industry experts with first-hand knowledge of marketing and growing exports internationally. (Presenters: HDEC members/supporters including Diana Urelius - Assistant Secretary & Senior Compliance Manager for Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift and others)
  

• Creating an International Value Proposition Workshop, Learn how to position and differentiate your company from competitors. During this session you will acturally craft your own value proposition. (Presenter: Denise Patrick - Managing Director of Energy Markets Access - a Business Intelligency Agency specializing in buyer behavior.)
