EuroPris ICT in Prisons Workshop 

In cooperation with the General Directorate of Probation and Prison Services Portugal, the third EuroPris ICT in Prisons Workshop will take place on 29-30 June 2016 in Sintra, Portugal.  Experts working in the ICT sector of prison and correctional services are the main target groupThe aim of the workshop is to bring together ICT prison professional from across Europe to exchange information, knowledge and best practice and build a network. 

PROGRAMME

The final programme will be published on EuroPris website. Among the topics covered will be:

  • Internet of Things;
  • Added value of the use of internet by inmates;
  • Cyber-security;
  • Telemedicine;
  • Connecting the inmate to the digital world. Looking into the future;
  • Cloud and data protection and internet;
  • Collaboration between police and penal system;
  • Video-conferencing - specific on visiting;
  • Tender Management - lessons learned.

Break out sessions will include case studies from different countries and provide for the opportunity of in-depth discussions.

Over the course of the event, participants will have the opportunity to interact and contribute during the break out essions.

WHY ATTEND

EuroPris offers uniquely a place for ICT experts from a variety of European countries working in the prison and correctional services to meet, share knowledge and best practices and to discuss the challenges and solutions. 

You will benefit from a number of advantages by attending the EuroPris ICT in Prisons Workshop:

  1. Acquire a good understanding of good practices on how technology in prison settings is implemented;
  2. Identify best practices, acquire new or enhanced skills and learn about ICT in other European prison systems;
  3. Analyse the discussion papers, exchange information, engage in discussions with colleagues working on ICT in the prison sector;
  4. Arrive at conclusions and recommendations on the workshop topics;
  5. Meet and network with colleagues from a variety of countries in Europe.

REGISTRATION

As the event is co-financed by the Justice Program of the European Union there is NO CHARGE to attend the event.  Registration is free and will be on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Participants will need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs. Participation is only open to public sector experts.

REIMBURSEMENT FOR EUROPRIS MEMBERS

A reimbursement of a maximum of 500 Euro for travel and accommodation costs can be requested for participation of experts from EuroPris member jurisdictions. This reimbursement is limited to 500 Euro per EuroPris member – so, it can be for one or more experts, as long as the total cost claim does not exceed the 500 Euro per EuroPris member jurisdiction (not per participant!).
Submission of the boarding passes and invoices together with an expense declaration form to secretariat@europris.org after the workshop to EuroPris will be required in order to make the transfer.
