A Panel Discussion: Foundations & Grantmakers

Seating is limited and filling up fast, register today!

About the topic:
What makes grantmakers choose one proposal over another? As nonprofit professionals, we know that grant seeking is competitive in nature, though we don’t always understand what goes into grant making decisions. This meeting will give you an opportunity to learn first-hand how funders think. Our panel members will share some insight on funding trends and best practices.  Topics of discussion will include but are not limited to:

  • Building the relationship: what gives foundations confidence in the organizations they fund?
  • Winning proposals: what makes them stand out?
  • Foundation guidelines: are they set in stone?

There will be time for Q&A.

The Panelists:
Ward Caswell, President, The Beveridge Family Foundation, Inc.
Dena Hall, President of the United Bank Foundations CT and MA and Regional President and Chief Marketing Officer, United Bank
Peter Taylor, President, Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation

The Moderator:
Layla G. Taylor, Esq., Partner, Sullivan Hayes & Quinn, LLC. Board member and grant making committee co-chair for The Women's Fund of Western Mass.
