Urban FIRE 2- Prepare to Launch Your Business

What’s Hard About Starting a Business?

  • Coming up with the money?
  • Finding the right location?
  • Figuring out which legal entity to pick?
  • Writing a Business Plan?

For many, writing a business plan is worst than swallowing cod liver oil. But what if you could simplify the planning of your potential business in five structured pieces – not by yourself but in weekly sessions with likeminded individuals and an instructor with 19 startups and the experience of working with over a thousand entrepreneurs?

Then sign up for Urban FIRE II, winner of the 2012 National Excellence Award for inner-city economic development taught by Boku Kodama, featured in the Oakland Tribune in 2012 as one of the top five teachers (K-12 through college) in the East Bay.

Urban FIRE is a visual training program based on the scientific research on how we learn. It is interactive with dedicated time for individual attention.  In fact, much of your business planning will be completed in class. You’ll also learn to set up your own website, get sound advice from guest speakers and learn the steps to legally get your business up and running. It’s 11 weeks long meeting every Saturday morning from 9am to 12pm.

Tuition has been reduced to reintroduce Urban FIRE back to the East Bay. Normally, $660, you can qualify on a sliding scale based on your income from a high of $220 to a low of $120.

Sign up below.

Class starts May 7 through July 9
