Change is a process that requires consistent and honest attention. This presentation will explore some of the common barriers experienced by those who strive for a new life. Internal motivation and good intentions don't always translate into health and recovery. Long-term recovery is possible by moving from isolation and distrust towards vulnerability and connection.
1. Participants will gain awareness of potential barriers to long term recovery.
2. The value of engaging the entire family system in the recovery process will be discussed.
3. Participants will gain insights into the need for connection and vulnerability in the recovery process.
About Christopher O'Reilly
Christopher O’Reilly joined Caron Treatment Centers in 2004 and has held numerous clinical positions within the organization. He currently serves as Senior Clinical Director of the My First Year of Recovery Program and Men’s Extended Care. He is also an adjunct professor in an undergraduate Behavioral Health program at Alvernia University. Christopher is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds several certifications that are pertinent to his role as an addiction professional. His certifications include: Certified Clinical Supervisor, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist, and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.
