Indiana Corn Lawsuit Informational Dinner

The law firm of Troyer & Good, PC is reaching out to farmers and professionals who represent farmers to provide education about the Syngenta corn case.

In 2009, Syngenta released a new strain of corn seed into the United States market before receiving import approval from China. Without import approval, China rejected U.S. corn shipments in 2013 and 2014, causing a global collapse in corn prices. 3.3 million metric tons of U.S. corn were rejected globally as of March 2014. The export market disruptions cost U.S. farmers billions of dollars. Any corn grower, regardless of whether or not they planted Viptera or other Syngenta seed, should be made whole by Syngenta.

There are currently lawsuits pending against Syngenta in 22 states due to their commercialization of the new corn seed without import approval from China. Today, tens of thousands of corn farmers across the United States have filed suit to ensure their voice is heard.

On June 9 at the Tavern at Coventry, Attorney Steve Wagner, with the law firm Wagner Reese, LLP, will be discussing the case and how you can recoup your losses. A free meal will be provided but space is limited - register quickly!

Auctioneer and Principal Broker of the Steffen Group Real Estate and Auctions, Brandon Steffen, will also provide us with an overview of current market conditions and sales trends for Indiana farmland.

If you cannot make it to the event but would like more information, please contact us at (260) 440-3241 or toni@troyergood.com.
