FCSSBC June Conference: The Social Labs Experience

The Federation's June Conference: The Social Labs Experience will be taking place in Penticton, B.C. on Thursday, June 23rd from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a reception to follow.

Spend a day engaging with a powerful tool for social innovation—the Social Lab!

Facilitator Brenna Atnikov of Reos Partners will lead members and participants through the experience of using social lab methodology as a new way to address some of the most complex issues facing our communities.

You will learn hands-on how to use Social Labs to host experiments and problem-solving pilot projects to deal with today's complex social problems.

Hear Al Etmanski and Pauline Terbasket speak on The Joys and Sorrows of Swimming Upstream. They reflect that "Ingenuity in the face of adversity is a hallmark of Fed members. We have stood firm against political indifference to children, youth, women and families. Times are changing. We no longer have to tread water. Instead we have the opportunity to advance the boldest rendition of the world we want, particularly if we tap into the deeper currents of social change." Join Pauline and Al for a lively blend of indigenous wisdom sprinkled with insights from a grizzled community organizer.

And don't forget to join us on Thursday evening for our annual Lakeside Reception hosted by our Federation Association Benefit Plan (FABP) providers; Schmunk Gatt Smith and Associates.
