The U.S. Small Business Administration is teaming up with LV SCORE, the SBDC, Keystone Warriors, Cedar Crest College and other local resource partners to offer a free two-day entrepreneurial training class to all veterans and their spouses looking to start or grow a business at Cedar Crest College in Allentown on May 17-18, 2016 from 8:00AM to 4:30 PM.
WHO: Representatives from U.S. Small Business Administration, Lehigh Valley SCORE, Lehigh Small Business Development Center, and other local community partners.
WHAT: Two- Day "Boots to Business: Re-boot" workshop offered to Veterans, Service members and their spouses covering various different apsects of how to open a Veteran-owned Small Business.
"Boots to Business: Reboot" is a two-day training program that provides participants an overview of business ownership as a career vocation, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition and an introduction to available public and private resources.
This course is eligible to Veterans of all eras, Service Members (including National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses. This course is instructed by SBA and its partners who are skilled business advisors. Following the two-day training, participants will be eligible to participate in an eight-week follow-online Foundations of Entrepreneurship course instructed by a consortium of professors and practitioners led by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.
