I write today with a heart filled with great thanksgiving and gladness, struck by the amazing response to this challenge. How blessed we the Grace Villa family are to have special friends like you in our lives! Things are lining up beautifully. On June 4 2016, we will embark on what we believe will be the adventure of a lifetime. Friends, athletes, non athletes, adventure seekers and well wishers will be unified for 3 days and 2 nights with 1 goal: to conquer Mount Muhavura for Grace Villa home for orphans and vulnerable girls. I hope this group will include you too!
Why Mount Muhavura? Because it is one of the highest peaks in Western Uganda, situated in one of the most fascinating, beautiful places on earth. This mythical mountain is one of the peaks that make up the Virunga Ranges mentioned in the book “Gorillas In The Mist” by the legendary Dian Fossey. #ClimbMuhavura4GraceVilla offers a real challenge, yet is achievable for people who are active & enjoy a challenge, designed to symbolise the hidden mountains that orphans and vulnerable girls must climb each day. Just like our girls did before they came into our care.
For those who can't make it to the peak: Worry Not. The climb is pre divided into 3 rest hut stops, and reaching any one of these huts is considered a successful climb. So ultimately, you still get to Climb Muhavura! It's about a 1.5 hour hike to the 1st hut. Or you can join the many others who choose to participate from the base.
Get set, elevate your workouts, pre hydrate, tell all your friends and family, fundraise! The countdown begins.
See you soon.
