Karr Tuttle Campbell, in partnership with Seattle Angel, is pleased to present the second seminar in our "Critical Legal Issues for Emerging Companies" series.

KTC employment attorneys Kathy Feldman and Celeste Monroe will guide you through the maze of federal, state and local laws to ensure best practices in hiring, classifying and paying employees.  The 1.5-hour presentation will be followed by a happy hour. 

Discussion will include:

• Hiring dos and don'ts
• The proper classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt 
• Distinguishing characteristics of independent contractors
• Recent changes to the minimum salary threshold for exempt employees under the FLSA, as well as amendments to Seattle's Paid Sick and Safe, Minimum Wage and Wage Theft Ordinances.
