The discipline of Nursing Informatics is a growing, important sector in healthcare IT. As the largest group of users of electronic health records, nurses are seeking a greater influence on optimization and development efforts so that the tool is less of a burden on clinicians and more of a ‘vital key’ to the delivery of high quality care. Healthcare organizations and vendors now realize the importance of refining the design of electronic health records so they better facilitate efficiency and accuracy of documentation, and streamline clinical workflows.
Opportunities to discuss ideas, brainstorm and collect the input of nurses are critical to furthering the goals of all stakeholders. We are proud to announce that the Portland Community of Nursing Informaticians and HIMSS Oregon will jointly host an event to discuss current challenges and projects related to nursing efficiency and to gather feedback and ideas that could lead to significant improvements in how EHR’s support care delivery. We welcome your participation in this informative and interactive event with a distinguished panel of representatives from Kaiser, Legacy, OHSU and Providence.
