Speaker Bios

Jean-Francis DUSCH, Managing Director, Global Head of Infrastructure, Real Assets & Structured Finance, CIO Benjamin de Rothschild Infrastructure Debt Generation

Jean-Francis brings over 20 years of international project and structured finance experience to the team. He started his career at Bouygues Construction in 1992 in their International Finance Engineering Department as a financial modeller and then became a project manager working on many transportation and social PPP projects in Europe such as the Stade de France, Lyon toll ring road, Bina Istra motorway, M5 motorway in Hungary, Prague airport N4 motorway in South Africa. In 1997, he led the project finance department of Basil Read (Bouygues’s South African subsidiary.) In 1998 he joined UBS in Zurich, later moving to London within their project finance department and was involved as financial advisor and arranger in a number of landmark European infrastructure, energy and telecoms projects. He then acted as a Director with Citigroup and WestLB, covering infrastructure and TMT sectors in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia, and leading several “Deal of the Year” debt transactions.Jean-Francis joined the Edmond de Rothschild Group in 2004, as co-head of the Project Finance department before taking charge of the group’s structuring advisory services. He contributed to the successful development of the Project Finance advisory business (EdR led the 2011 IJ league tables as global financial advisor in transport and PPP) and Private Equity structuring activities having advised and closed the €140m transport infrastructure investment company in 2008 (Jean-Francis Dusch will be a member of the Investment Committee and sits on the board of the GP of the fund).

In 2013, as part of the group`s globalisation, Jean-Francis headed the group’s Infrastructure and Structured Finance department. This led to the closing of Benjamin de Rothschild Infrastructure Debt Generation in 2014, a platform comprising of FCT BRIDGE Fund (€595m) and a managed account for a leading institution.

Mark A. Walters, Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management is an investment principal in the Infrastructure Investments Group, based in London. Mark is primarily responsible for leading the Group’s investment activity across the European utilities sector having joined the firm in 2009. Mark holds board positions at Electricity North West, Southern Water Services and Zephyr Investments Limited providing ongoing strategic guidance to the boards and executives within these portfolio companies. Prior to JPMAM, Mark spent time working with Macquarie Capital’s European Advisory team having started his career at Arthur Andersen, and subsequently Deloitte, practicing as a chartered accountant. Mark holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the University of Manchester in England and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
