Winton Woods High School Finances 101 is a fun and interactive way for high school students to learn the Game of Life. During the event, the students will travel through a life-sized game board in which they'll be assigned a career and a salary, and will roll the dice to determine the number of children they'll have. Along the way, they will have to figure out how they will pay for rent, food, insurance, car payments, and for life's little surprises. The game emphasizes how earnings impact buying decisions, setting a budget, what it really costs to run a household, and how to spend within one's means.
Volunteers will staff a station at the game. No math skills are needed, just adults who have learned to navigate through life! Training will be provided prior to the start of the game. Chairs will be available, so volunteers may be seated during the game.
