Chapter Meeting June 17th, 2016

Real-world Case Studies of International Crisis Response

The two most critical components of business resilience are (1) identifying and managing risks, and (2) developing plans to ensure the continuity of business functions during an interruption.  But it is impossible to prevent every disruption or incident.

When the unthinkable happens, organizations must have a simple but robust and flexible plan with a team and leadership to manage the response.  This presentation will highlight important lessons from the speaker’s personal experience in managing complex international crises – from a plane crash that killed the entire Board of a publicly listed company to extortion attempts, evacuations during the Arab Spring, and violent protest action.

Anthony Moorhouse is a former Australian Special Forces Commander and Founder and Director of Strategy for Dynamiq, a holistic international emergency management company based in Australia with offices in Boulder.  Dynamiq supports over 7,000 organizations in 120 countries and manages 10,000 emergency response cases annually.
