AIA CLEVELAND URBAN SKETCH CRAWL
Join architects/artists Terry Welker, FAIA and Ruth Gless, FAIA for a fun afternoon of "no fear" learning and sketching as we "crawl" through a slice of downtown Cleveland. Learn and practice new techniques of rapid sketching to develop and appreciate your own style of design drawing. The afternoon ends with a group "throw down" to share what we've learned and make new friends.
Learning Objectives:
1) Discover principles of design through sketching in the urban environment.
2) Discover the best sketch tools for you and rapid sketching.
3) Learn and use the principles and techniques of rapid sketching.
4) Discover how Urban Sketching can be used to learn and share knowledge about life in the city.
Basic tools:
Your favorite sketchbook. A couple good soft pencils (w/sharpener) or pens. Wear walking shoes and be prepared for weather.
Optional:
Small shoulder bag for supplies, Water color sketch pad, Oil pastel sketch pad, Pocket size watercolor set with a wide brush for washes, Small water bottle, Watercolor pencils, Pastels, Oil pastels, White out, Permanent black pens of different line weights, Small folding stool or sitting pad
