Water Resources Committee Field Trip 2016 - Leveraging Ecosystem Services to Enhance Water Supply Resilience

August 18, 2016 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This field trip features guided tours of three sites located at the confluence of the Middle Fork and Coast Fork of the Willamette River. 

Willamette Confluence AreaA tour guide from the Nature Conservancy will discuss ongoing water quality enhancement projects 

Turtle Flats - A tour guide from the Friends of Buford Park will discuss habitat construction in progress during the summer of 2016

Future Willamette River Intake Site - An environmental specialist from Eugene Water & Electric Board will discuss expansion of source protection efforts from the McKenzie River to the new Willamette River source.


There is no fee for AWWA Members; $10 fee for Non-Members

Dress is casual and suitable for the weather of the day (e.g. sun hat, rain gear, etc.). Please wear hiking footwear. Be aware that poison oak is present at all walking tour sites.

Pack a water bottle and a sack lunch. We will munch our lunch while listening to the tour guide in the shade of some trees. If you are uncomfortable sitting on the ground, please bring a camp chair.
