Bringing Mental Health to Main Street 

Change Direction Summit County is proud to present the Bringing Mental Health to Main Street, a free educational symposium! This educational symposium was designed to bring awareness to several areas of mental and behavioral health including mental health first aid, compassion fatigue, and burnout and community resources. Registration is limited and participants must pre-register. The deadline to register is July 20th.

Educational Symposium Agenda:

  • 7:30-8:00am - Registration and continental breakfast
  • 8:00-9:30am - Welcome and Plenary
  • 9:45-11:45am - Breakout sessions
  • 11:45am-1:30pm - Adjourn to Main St. Kickoff at Lock 3

2.75 hours of professional continuing education credits are available to LSWs, LISWs, SWA, PCs, PCCs, and RNs (reciprocity) 

Session Details

  • 8:00-9:30am - Opening Plenary, Surviving with a Mental Illness. Presenters: Eric Walton and Terry Russell, Executive Director, NAMI Ohio (1 continuing education credit)
  • 9:45-11:45am - Workshops (registrant selects 1): 

    *Workshop 1: Mental Health: Signs Symptoms, Seeking Help, 1.75 continuing education credits . Presenters: Hattie Tracy MSW, LISW-S, LCDCIII, MPA and Dawn Carter, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS

    *Workshop 4: Exploring the Value of Developing a Mental Health Focus in Local Church Ministry & Recognition of Mental and Emotional Distress: How to Make a Referral. Presenters: Kimberly Moraghan, MA, LPCC-S and Dr. Tania S. Lodge, Ph.D., LPCC-S  

**Following the educational symposium, attendees are invited to participate in the Bringing Mental Health to Main Street Change Direction Campaign Kickoff at Lock 3 from 11:45am-1:30pm!  The Bringing Mental Health to Main Street Kickoff will include special guest speakers, exhibitors, activities, food trucks and music.**
