 Chemical and material innovations often have multiple applications in many different market segments of different sizes. Understanding barriers in the value chain and ways to overcome them helps select and focus on those market segments that can improve chances of early revenues.
In this Lunch & Learn Session, Guest Speaker Dr. Seetha Coleman Kammula will explain what a value chain is, how it differs from a supply chain, and give some examples of value chain analysis.
Dr. Coleman Kammula holds a phD in Chemistry and taught at Princeton University prior to joining Royal Dutch/Shell in Amsterdam, where she started in R&D, moved to the UK as Business Development Manager, followed by Belgium as Head of Technology in Epoxy Resins, returning to the US as Head of Strategy for the Epoxy Resin business and finally as Head of the Epoxy Resins business unit with manufacturing resins around the world. In 2000, she joined Basell, a joint venture between Shell and BASF in Delaware as Senior Vice President for Strategic Marketing, Innovation and Asset Management. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Indelpro, a Basell/Alfa joint venture in Mexico. She recently ended her tenure as a member of the Sustainability External Advisory Council of the Dow Chemical Company.
