Brenda Eagan Brown is the statewide Program Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Brain Injury School ReEntry Consulting Program called BrainSTEPS (Strategies Teaching Educators, Parents, and Students). She is a certified Brain Injury Specialist, serves on the National Collaborative Regarding Children with Brain Injury, international board of directors for the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, national advisory consultant for the University of Oregon’s Center for Brain Injury Research and Training TBI “In the Classroom Online Teacher Training” Modules.

- $100 for groups of up to 5 individuals from the same School or Practice
Objectives:
Participants will have a firm understanding of:
- Concussion impact on classroom performance
- Strategies and accommodations to reduce student symptom severity
- Collaborating with other interdisciplinary professionals (medical/rehab/athletic) for optimum student concussion management
- Why schools should identify professionals at the school building level to monitor symptoms and academics through recovery
- Identifying key barriers to treatment for minority or underrepresented populations. (per American Academy of Pediatrics cultural diversity requirement)
