The Stream Discovery Program is an introductory stream monitoring program for grades 5-12 that provides students with the opportunity to assess water quality in their community by monitoring macroinvertebrates and water chemistry in a local stream. Water quality data are then uploaded to National Geographic’s FieldScope mapping & data platform for comparison with student data in other IL watersheds. This workshop will be at the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center Field Station in East Alton, IL. Parking is along the drive in front of the field station. Come in the main front entrance and the workshop will be in the classroom to your immediate left.
Participants must register and complete payment by Sept. 22. No refunds will be issued after Sept. 22nd.
Six professional development hours are available at no extra cost through this workshop, please bring your Illinois Educator Identification Number (IEIN) to complete the required forms.
