Bone Marrow Failure Disease Symposium

Clinicians caring for both children and adults are frequently faced with patients with low blood counts and the challenge of initial management and work-up. This symposium will provide participants with the most up-to-date review of scientific and clinical research related to the biology and management of pediatric and adult bone marrow failure diseases, including anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). The presenters will focus on the latest advances in the diagnosis, genetic characteristics, pathology and treatment options for these diseases, including the importance of recognizing adult presentations of inherited marrow failure syndromes and recent discoveries in inherited bone marrow failure defects.

This symposium is intended for health care professionals who may evaluate and help manage patients with bone marrow failure. This includes: including hematologists, oncologists, primary care physicians, pediatricians, pathologists, residents/fellows, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists.

There is no charge to attend this event. Live stream available.

At the end of the conference participants will be able to:

  • Provide accurate differential diagnosis of bone marrow failure diseases, including MDS, aplastic anemia, PNH, and MPN.
  • Critically appraise recent advances in research on the genetic characteristics of bone marrow failure diseases.
  • Summarize recent progress in understanding the pathogenesis of myeloid malignancies and bone marrow failure diseases.
  • Describe safety and efficacy data for currently available therapies for bone marrow failure diseases.
  • Identify current therapeutic standards, as well as new and emerging therapies used in HCT.
