Target Audience: PASS Staff:   Middle, High, Alternative School Staff (certified and classified)

Description:  Many students are struggling due to the trauma they have experienced or are currently experiencing. This session will provide an overview of the trauma-informed approach, which is how a treatment provider, a program, an agency, an organization, or a school, thinks about and responds to those people who have experienced, or maybe at risk for experiencing, trauma.

The Anatomy of a Trauma Experience

How Exposure to Traumatic Experiences Manifests

Impact of Trauma on Children’s Neurological Development and Health

Enhancing Resiliency and Improving Coping

PGES Connections:1b- Getting to Know your Students, 2a – Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport,2d – Managing Student Behavior

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
