Business Owners Roundtable

Small Business Leaders:  You are not Alone

Six-session Fall Series will start on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.
The following sessions will be Wednesdays every three weeks, for five successive sessions: October 5, October 26, November 16, December 7 2016 and January 4, 2017.
In case of oversubscription, a second Fall Series Roundtable may be scheduled before September 14.

Small business owners often feel alone because their organizations are small, or they are an office of one. Exchanging support, advice and shared experience from small business peers in a variety of other businesses can be an invaluable tool. The Roundtable offers participants the opportunity to learn from each other in an interactive and collaborative forum. Each business owner discusses his/her challenges and the group contributes observations and suggestions. It’s like having your own Advisory Board!

For almost four years the Roundtable has been functioning as a multiple series of six sessions each. During each six-session series, approximately 10-12 small business CEOs/owners help peers enhance their leadership skills and business knowledge. During that time it has developed into a valuable, self-generating brand because it provides a social network that helps grow a successful business. In fact, it is a testament to its success that many participants attend multiple series. Its format and emphasis continue to evolve, based on the needs of the group.

Owners start by stating their business goals, then report on their challenges, successes and progress during the series. They determine contents and topics for the Roundtable. Member-selected topics addressed by SCORE and other outside speakers have included:

  • Social media marketing effectiveness
  • The sales process and cold calling
  • The art of closing the sale
  • Dealing with difficult employees and clients
  • Financial controls
  • Office productivity tools

Meetings occur Wednesdays, every three weeks, from 9 am to 12:00 Noon. Continental Breakfast is included. Fall Series fee for all sessions is $300.
