IPECA 2016 Aboveground Storage Tank Seminar

Every other year IPECA does an Aboveground Storage Tank Seminar for AST Owners and Contractors. New rules, new requirements and new products and services will be emphasized.

AST Seminar Agenda:

8:00 AM -  Welcome - Bill Greer, Executive Director, The Indiana Petroleum Equipment Contractors Association (IPECA)

8:15 AM – An Update on ASTs from the Steel Tank Institute  -   Dana Schmidt, Steel Tank Institute  -  AST Standards, Codes and Regulations;   Inspections (STI SP001)

10:00 AM  -  Meet our exhibitors followed by our break.  Each exhibitor will have a few minutes to introduce their company and tell about their products/services.  Then the remainder of this time will be our break.

10:30 AM -  Aboveground Storage Tank Options  -  FlameShield or FireGuard  -  What's the difference and under what conditions can each be used?

11:00 AM  Bulk Plant Facilities  -  Design and Installation of Bulk Storage Plants  -  Harry Beals,  Williams, Beck & Hess, Installer of Bulk Plant Storage Systems.

12:00 Noon  -  Lunch (included)

1:00 PM  -  Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans -  From EPA  -  A Review and Update on SPCC Requirements - Jason Sewell from EPA Region 5.

1:30 PM  -  Indiana Regulatory Update on AST Issues  - 

Indiana Fire Marshal’s Office, Dept of Homeland Security  -  New Fire Code Rules with significant changes.  Plus a review of plan filing requirements pointing out some of the frequent discrepancies made.

Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) – Note from Bruce Kizer - The emergency rule requiring registration of specific AST’s has expired and will likely not be renewed, which leaves the original statute.  A group organized by the Environmental Rules Board will make some recommendations on how to proceed.   Bruce will not be able to attend but we will bring you up to date on registration of ASTs.

3:15 PM  -  AST Components and Fittings  and AST Electronic Monitoring -  A Review of New and Not-So-New Components  - Morrison Bros, OPW,  Holloway Marketing.  

4:30 PM  -  Seminar End  -  Drawing for Door Prizes

Special:  If you paid for attendance and attended the UST Seminar the day before as an attendee, you can attend this seminar for:                                                     $100

Exhibitor Fee - IPECA Member  (includes one attendee):     $250

Exhibitor Fee - Non-member (includes 1 attendee)           $300

Exhibitor - Additional Attendee                                           $125  

  (Must be an employee of the Exhibitor - Exception:  Mfg Reps may assist their distributors as an additional attendee).

Special Discounted Fee for Exhibitors who also exhibited at the UST Seminar on Sep 29, 2016:   $200

Note:  After Saturday, Sep 24, 2016 there is a $50 late charge added to each of the above and the special fees are not available.

AST Owners/Operators will be encouraged to visit each and every exhibitor.  A $200 cash prize will be given at a drawing at the end of the seminar.  Exhibitors are also encouraged to donate door prizes for the same drawing for additional publicity.
