Speaker Bios:
Jonathan Goldberg is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of BBL Commodities, LP (“BBL”). BBL trades liquid and listed futures and options with a focus in the petroleum market and a specialty in refined products. Prior to founding BBL in 2013, Mr. Goldberg worked in Glencore's oil department from 2010 through 2013 where he was responsible for helping to build the firm's US oil derivatives business. Before joining Glencore as a partner, Mr. Goldberg worked for J. Aron, the commodities division of Goldman Sachs from 2003 to 2010. Mr. Goldberg began his career working with Goldman's refining and end-user clients. Mr. Goldberg graduated from Yale College with honors with a degree in economics in 2003.
Andrew Fisch is a Managing Director at Investcorp Investment Advisers. Andrew joined Investcorp in 2015 as the Portfolio Manager of the SSARIS portfolio. Previously, Andrew was the Chief Investment Officer of the Hedge Fund of Funds Group at SSARIS Advisors, LLC and a member of the Executive Management Team. Prior to joining SSARIS, he was a founding partner at Aurum Capital Management where he managed the Aurum Venture Fund (Venture Capital) and developed various hedge fund of funds products. From 1989 through 1996 he was the portfolio manager for Swiss asset manager Controlfida. For the five years preceding his efforts at Controlfida, he worked for Hugo Securities. Mr. Fisch has served on several corporate boards, and frequently participates in the industry-focused events on hedge funds and investing in Japan. He studied Economics at Hobart College and was admitted to Honors in Economics in 1981.
Christopher Rhine, CFA, is the lead portfolio manager for Cohen & Steers’ natural resource equities portfolios and is also a member of the large cap value portfolio management team. He has 13 years of investment experience. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Mr. Rhine was an equity analyst with Blackrock, where he primarily covered the global industrials and materials sectors. He also has research experience in the global energy and information technology sectors. Mr. Rhine has an MBA from New York University and a BS from Drexel University. He is based in New York.
Joseph Tremblay is a Director at Talara Capital. Talara manages over $600M in assets across both public and private energy strategies. Joe manages all aspects of investor relations. Prior to Talara, Joe was a Director at Alternative Access Capital and focused on fund marketing, manager due diligence, and hedge fund portfolio customization. Joe was essential in securing investments from some of the world’s largest banks and in building a custom hedge fund portfolio for a Fortune 100 Company. Previously, Joe was a Senior Associate at New Stream Capital, a $1 billion alternative investment manager with investments in Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Insurance, Consumer Finance, and Private Equity. Joe earned a B.A. in Government from Connecticut College.
Chris Monk is a Portfolio Manager at Hudson Ridge Asset Management. Hudson Ridge is a hedge fund based in New York that invests in the North American natural gas market. The team employs a quantitative, analytic process to identify fundamental opportunities. Chris Monk is one of three Portfolio Managers at Hudson Ridge responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s fundamental trading strategy. Before joining Hudson Ridge in 2013, Chris held a range of positions over his six years on the ConocoPhillips Gas & Power Trade Floor: he led fundamental analytics for Henry Hub Fixed Price & Options Trading, developed trading strategies for the Canadian Basis Group in Calgary, and provided analytics and risk oversight for the Texas Trading Group. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Texas A&M University.
