Library UX - Jobs to be Done and New Feature Planning: Webinar (09/13/16)

Core to improving the library user experience is identifying need and introducing new and useful services, features, and content, but the risk of failure sometimes trumps our willingness to try anything out of the ordinary. What a shame, right? In this workshop, Michael Schofield -- a developer, librarian, and chief #libuxer -- will introduce you to methods and models for identifying the tasks patrons want to perform (or, their "jobs to be done"), and whether providing a new service or feature won't actually have a negative impact on the overall library user experience.

Virtual Trainer: Michael Schofield

Michael Schofield ( @schoeyfield ) is a front-end developer and librarian trying really hard to make cool things for libraries. He presents and publishes frequently about practical design and user experience, teaches the odd course, and runs LibUX - a site with popular writeups and resources for just this thing. In 2015 he won an ACRL Innovation Award.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.

Cancellation Deadline is Friday, September 9, 2016.
