Presenting: "The Biology and Biomechanics of Traumatic Brain Injury and It’s Treatment"

This talk will cover the variety of traumatic brain injuries; it will discuss how injuries translate into neurological deficit.  In addition, we will discuss the medical and surgical treatment of traumatic brain injury.  We will discuss some of the pitfalls of diagnosis and treatment.  Finally, we will go over prior and emerging experimental therapies for traumatic brain injury.

Course Objectives:

  • List the different anatomic locations of TBI .
  • Discuss the main priorities for stabilization and early treatment of traumatic brain injury patients.
  • Explain the most likely neuropsychiatric consequences of injury.
