EQUIPMENT:

Please bring a chess clock if you have one.  Boards and pieces will be provided.

FOOD & DRINK:

There are several options in the area (near Lloyd Center), including a cafe and restaurant in the hotel.

RULES & SCHEDULE:

4-round Swiss paired event.  G/45 d5.  Clocks and notation required for players in sections where all players are rated above 1000 USCF or NWSRS.  Tentative schedule:  Rounds at 10am, 11:30 am (or ASAP), 1:45pm and 3:30pm.  Standard USCF rules will apply.  There will be a single section of players, but at organizers' discretion, players may be divided into sections based on rating and/or age.  NWSRS Rated; if all players in a section are USCF members, those sections will be USCF rated as well.

AWARDS

  • First, second, and third place trophies, as well as even/plus score medals (2.0 points or higher).
  • Memberships to NW Chess, including a subscription to the monthly NW Chess Magazine.  1-year subscriptions to players receiving 3.5 or 4.0 points; 6 month subscriptions to players receiving 2.5 or 3.0 points.
  • Where necessary, computer tie-breaks (SCO) will be used.
