Boston SCORE Workshop: Is Entrepreneurship Right For You? 

Starting your own business can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Advantages include being your own boss, setting your own schedule and making a living doing something you enjoy. But, becoming a successful entrepreneur requires thorough planning, creativity and hard work. 

This workshop is designed for people who are thinking about starting their own business or are in the early stages of growing their business. Topics covered (at a high level) include:

  • Self-assessment tools to help you evaluate how you will address the challenges and opportunities of entrepreneurship
  • Market analysis - Customers, Cost and Competition
  • Writing a useful business plan
  • Choosing your business structure, registering your business, business licenses and permits
  • Business financials including financing and taxes
  • Employees
  • Resources available to help you

The workshop is sponsored by SCORE Boston and presented by Bill Hulsey.  Bill Hulsey is a SCORE mentor and attorney with extensive experience managing the legal and business affairs of complex, mission driven organizations. He has particular expertise in many issues affecting non-profits, including governance, labor and employment, federally funded research, risk management and commercialization of intellectual property.
