                                                                          Crew (Lead) Chief Training

This 4 day Crew Chief (Leader) training will provide the groundwork for new/existing weatherization workers interested in understanding and expanding their knowledge of weatherization.  Topics covered in this course include "Role of the Crew Leader", "Safe Work Practices", "Maintaining Quality Control", and much more.  The curriculum for this course is aligned with the NREL Job Task Analyses (JTAs) and can be located (http://www1.eere.energy.gov/wip/pdfs/51673.pdf).  This training session is primarily in class with additional technical training in advanced blower door diagnostics, a review of current installation methodologies and combustion safety instruction. Students will be required to pass a final exam on the last day of training in order to receive a certificate of completion.

 

At the conclusion of this course, the student will understand:

  • The Role of the Crew Chief
  • Adult Learning Concepts
  • Effective Crew Management
  • Equipment Tracking and Maintenance
  • Organization: Materials Tracking, Warehousing Materials
  • Technical Expertise: Building and Safety Codes, Maintaining Quality Control, Safe Work Practices, Understanding a Work Order, Combustion Safety & Advanced Blower Door.

 

CEUs: BPI (15 CEUs); CSL (Code Review 1 hour)(Workplace Safety 2 hours)(Business Practices 2 hours)(Energy 1 hour) 

 

Prerequisites: 6 months experience in a home performance program funded by a state, utility or other agency with specific compliance standards; industry specific experience (work in the weatherization [WAP], building performance, or building science industries; relevant building science coursework / training; or Industry certifications (RESNET, BPI, NATE, EPA).

 

*Participant will not be allowed to attend the training if payment is not

received before training begins. Class minimum required.

If minimum requirementis not met class will be rescheduled.* 

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations 14 days before training will be reimbursed.  Cancellations less than

14 days will not be reimbursed.         

* Substitutions from the same contractor will be accepted with prior notification

and approval of GJA.*

 Emergency Class Cancellation Policy:
