2016 Jane Harrison Speaker Series on the Importance of Housing

Join the Homeless Persons Representation Project and the Public Justice Center for an evening with Matthew Desmond, John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences and co-director of the Justice and Poverty Project at Harvard University, recipient of the 2015 MacArthur Followship, and  author of EVICTED: Poverty and Profit in the American City.

Dr. Desmond will speak about his research into eviction and its impact on the lives of  those living in  some of the poorest neighborhoods in the country, sharing stories and experiences from his field research on Milwaukee's low-income private housing sector.

Following Dr. Desmond, a diverse panel representing tenant, landlord, and judicial  perspectives will discuss housing and eviction issues and solutions in Baltimore, where 7,000 families are evicted each year.

The September 29th event is SOLD OUT.

The Jane Harrison Speaker Series on the Importance of Housing is supported by The Baltimore Bar Foundation, Inc. and Enterprise Community Partners.
