Please join the Washington Network Group when we convene our next WNG Career Development Roundtable with David Ris, Executive Recruiter at The McCormick Group, and Bill Stokes, WNG Chairman and Search Consultant at ExecCareers DC.

David and Bill will discuss networking best practices, and moderate a brainstorming session with participants on successful networking strategies and tactics. Attendees will have an opportunity to pose questions and share insights. Participants will leave this session with practical advice for achieving better results from their overall networking efforts.

David Ris
Executive Recruiter, The McCormick Group

David Ris is an executive recruiter with The McCormick Group, a national executive search firm based in Washington DC. His specialties are Legal, Tax Accounting and Government Relations, and he conducts retained and contingency searches for law and accounting firms, consulting firms, corporations and trade associations. David also represents candidates, with a particular specialty in assisting senior level government officials as they transition into the private sector. Among his many placements are a former Senior Counsel on the House Financial Services Committee, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary from Treasury’s Office of International Affairs, a former International Tax Counsel from Treasury, a former Chief Tax Counsel on Senate Finance Committee, a former Commissioner from the Federal Communications Commission, a Counsel from the Senate Commerce Committee, and a former Ways & Means Committee Chief Tax Counsel. Prior to joining The McCormick Group, he was a sales and marketing executive in the high tech marketplace; responsible for directing business development initiatives with Nextel, Palm Computing, and MCI. David is a graduate of Tulane University.


Bill Stokes
Chairman, Washington Network Group

Bill Stokes is Chairman of the Washington Network Group (WNG), a Washington DC-based organization of senior-level executives from the private, public and independent sectors. Additionally, Bill is a client development executive and recruiter at ExecCareers DC, a search firm servicing small-to-medium sized businesses and nonprofit organizations in the greater Washington DC region. Bill has served on numerous boards, including the Science and Technology Policy Center for Development, the George C. Marshall International Center and the World Affairs Council of Washington, DC. Bill pursued graduate studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University, undergraduate studies at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, and attended Phillips Exeter Academy.
