Life is growing increasingly difficult. Young people are bombarded by sexualized messages, godless philospohies, and attacks on their faith from all quarters -- entertainment, politics, educational policies, and peer pressure. Many of the young, and the not-so-young, question the value of the church. How can we help faith flourish in such a culture?
The Wing Men retreat is designed to address this issue head-on. Through Bible study, prayer, group discussion, and geo-caching treasure hunts, we help dads and sons, leaders and youth find answers together. This weekend will be filled with faith, fun, and formational study that bonds dads and sons for the journey of life.
At this year's retreat we will explore the following topics:
Desire, Design, Destiny – How do the "big questions" lead us to view life as a journey?
Plotting the Course – How do we travel as foreigners in a darkened world?
Gearing Up – How do we prepare for this journey?
Roadblocks and Potholes – How we deal with life’s challenges?
Lost? – Where do we turn when we take a bad turn?
Daniel Weiss, founder and president of The Brushfires Foundation, a 501(c)3 ministry working to renew a Christian vision of sexuality, relationships, and the human person, will be the main speaker for Wing Men. Mr. Weiss has spent more than a decade helping church and community leaders, educators and policy-makers address complex situations surrounding sexual brokenness with hope and life-giving truth.
