Promoting Excellence in Family Child Care- PLC

Family child care providers will meet monthly to discuss a specific topic for a total of 8 meetings from October, 2016 through May, 2017. 

Through discussion, reflection, videos, and guest speakers, participants will gain an understanding of how they can become leaders in the field of early childhood education, strengthen program quality, and understand many of EEC’s initiatives, regulations, and how what they are doing within their programs fits into these initiatives.

Topics to be discussed are as follows: 

  • Advocacy in FCC;
  • What does quality FCC look like?;
  • What is an IPDP and PPDP and why should I have one?; 
  • QRIS 101;
  • Introduction CDA and Accreditation;
  • EEC’s curriculum policy and developmentally appropriate practice; Introduction to EEC standards and guidelines;
  • What is family and community engagement?
  • Reflective evaluations will be completed by participants at the end of each meeting.
