Come Learn about Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO)
Where Are We Now and Where we are Going!
ILO was formed over the last two years by a group of over twenty families in Washington, DC and Montgomery County, MD who are creating a network of support for our adult children, whom we call “self-advocates”. We have designed the organization to help our self-advocates transition into a home of their own, establish an active role in their community, and create long-term connections. Our first group of self-advocates will be moving into apartments in a new complex in Gaithersburg this fall and supported by an on-site ILO community builder. But, this is just the beginning for us. Over time, ILO will provide support to our self-advocates throughout their lives, even after their parents are gone.
Join the CEO & Founder of ILO, board members and some of the participating families to learn of our progress with creating communities for our family members with developmental disabilities in Gaithersburg and Washington DC; who has been hired as ILO's new employees; what it means to be part of ILO, and if interested, how to join.
