The AIHEC 2016 Fall Board of Directors Meeting will be held on October 6-7, 2016 in New Orleans, LA. Immediately after the board meeting on the evening of Oct. 7, we will host a short overview/opening session of the AIHEC-ACCT Governance Institute for Student Success (GISS) for TCUs, Phase 2. AIHEC is pleased to be cohosting our second annual Institute for TCU governing boards at the fall meeting, in conjunction with the Association of Community College Trustees. The GISS-TCU2 training will reconvene on October 8 at 12:30 p.m. and conclude on Oct. 9 at 5:00 p.m. The AIHEC-ACCT GISS-TCU2 Insitute is intended for joint teams of TCU Governing Boards and Presidents. Please plan to attend our Fall meeting -- elections will be held for all positions on the AIHEC executive committee, including Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Member-at-Large.
Lodging: The host/meeting hotel is full, but AIHEC has a room block at the Lowes New Orleans, 300 Poydras Street, just down the street from the Hilton. To reserve a room, call 504-595-3300 and ask for the "American Indian Higher Education Consortium" room block. The room rate is $209/night, which is less than the host hotel.
