Capitol Weekly and Capital Public Radio present CALIFORNIA VOTES: A 2016 Ballot Measure Forum, which will examine six of the most important measures on the November ballot. The event will be held Thursday, September 8 in Sacramento. Admission is free, but registration is required.
With nearly 20 proposals on the ballot this year, voters must make important choices on a wide variety of proposals that will impact Californians for decades to come. Facing a deluge of advertising on some measures and a dearth of information on others, how can voters prepare themselves to make informed choices?
At CALIFORNIA VOTES, both sides of six controversial California state ballot measures will be presented by the measure’s proponents and the opposition.
We'll examine Proposition 53: Public Works Projects; Proposition 55: Tax Extension; Proposition 61: Prescription Drug Costs; Propositions 62 & 66; The Death Penalty; Proposition 64; Marijuana Legalization
Through spirited discussion and reasoned debate, each hour-long panel will explore the strengths and weaknesses of the proposition. We’ll set aside time for audience questions.
Attend the full day, or choose individual panels.
