On-Site Composting
at School and in the Garden 

Learn how to compost at school with students as an educational activity and turn garden and kitchen scraps into “black gold” for your school gardens.

Join Ann McGovern of MassDEP and Hannah Traggis, MassHort’s Seed to Table Educator, in the garden at Elm Bank for a hands on workshop on setting up and using compost bins available from MassDEP’s Green Team and how to build larger bins for your school. We’ll also demonstrate indoor composting with earthworms, for classroom composting. Worms provided (free) to participants.
