KEYNOTE:  Senator Suzanne Chun Oakland is a Democratic member of the Hawaii State Senate representing District 13.  She was first elected to the chamber in 1996.  She served as Senate Majority Whip from 2011 to 2013.  Senator Oakland is not running for re-election to the Hawaii State Senate in 2016. She served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1990 to 1996.  Senator Oakland earned her B.A. in Communications/Psychology from the University of Hawaii in 1983. Her professional experience includes working as a Community Services Specialist for the Hawaii State Senate in 1984, working as Administrative Assistant for Smolenski and Woodell, Attorneys at Law, from 1984 to 1986, working as Administrative Assistant for Au's Plumbing and Metal Works from 1979 to 1990 and working as a Research Assistant and Office Manager for City Council Member Gary Gill from 1987 to 1990. Susie has been  a staunch supporter of health and human services concerns since she entered office. She has been the Champion for Hawai`I’s Keiki and Ohana.

EVENT NOTES:

Registration: To receive the Early Bird Discount on the conference, simply fill out the registration form by September 26, 2016.  Late registration starts on 9/27/16 and closes on 10/10/16. If you plan to register on site there will be no guarantee of lunch.

Presenter Signatures: Please DO NOT ask presenters to sign work forms. Your certificate of Attendance will serve as verification of participation.

Certificate of Attendance: You will receive a certificate of attendance at the completion of your day if you plan on leaving before the last session please come to the registration area for an amended certificate -You will receive a final Certificate.

Length of Sessions: Sessions will be at least 1.5 hours in length to maximize learning. Morning Drinks: Coffee and Tea will be served starting at 7:30AM.

Name Tag & Wrist Band: Your nametag and wristband must be worn at all times for admission to the workshops.

Lunch: 11:30AM - 12:45PM on Friday and Saturday, during which time you will be able to eat, network with colleagues, and relax. There will be no sessions offered during lunch. During your lunch break-feel free to meet and eat in any of the rooms and networking).

Hawaii Convention Center Parking: There is a $10.00 parking fee per day.

First Aid: First Aid Services are available.
