What to Expect:
This training is being organized through the WV Local Food Corridor Project - a project funded by a USDA Local Food Promotion Program grant, which is being administered by the Natural Capital Investment Fund (NCIF).
The WV Local Food Corridor Project involves developing a prototype distribution route, and builds on peer learning to enhance capacity for local food distribution. A goal of the project is to leverage the resources and networks of partner organizations in Ohio, West Virginia, and Southwest Virginia.
This training will help prepare producers to acquire GAP certification needed to sell to key regional wholesale markets such as Appalachian Harvest food hub in Duffield, VA and CAMC Value Chain in Charleston, WV, as well as others along the local food corridor!
We hope you can join us!
Travel Reimbursements:
Funding for shared travel (carpools) is available to WV participants upon request. A request for travel reimbursement must be made via email to Liberty Newberry Fetty (libertynewberry-fetty@vc2.org) explaining the need for support.
Travel support will be awarded based on need, on a first come first served basis, and will be capped at 10 participants.
Completion of the WVDA basic GAP training required for a GAP audit cost-share is a recommended precursor to this training.
