Amy Wan, Esq., CIPP/US is a Partner with Trowbridge Sidoti LLP (CrowdfundingLawyers.net) where she practices crowdfunding and syndication law. Formerly, she was the General Counsel at Patch of Land, a real estate marketplace lending platform. While there, Amy pioneered the industry’s first payment dependent note that is secured pursuant to an indenture trustee and designed to be bankruptcy remote, and advised the company on its Series A funding round. In recognition for her work at Patch, she was named as a Finalist for the Corporate Counsel of the Year Award 2015 by LA Business Journal. Amy also brings extensive experience in legal innovation and rethinking the delivery of legal services. She is the founder and co-organizer of Legal Hackers LA, and was named one of the ten women to watch in legal technology by the American Bar Association Journal in 2014. Prior to joining Patch of Land, Amy worked in enforcement and compliance at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she represented the United States at the WTO and participated in free trade agreement negotiations on regulatory coherence and technical barriers to trade. Amy also spent time at the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Transportation as a Presidential Management Fellow. She holds an LL.M. in Public International Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a JD from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California.

Phil Atwan is the Senior Vice President of Exchange Resources, and is also one of the Founders. He speaks to more financial, real estate, and legal professionals about 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges than probably anyone in the country. Phil is featured at approximately 150 educational seminars per year, hosted by financial planning organizations, escrow associations, CPA and EA tax groups, bar associations, and real estate companies in the greater Los Angeles area through San Luis Obispo County.
His reach extends across the nation. Industry-related professionals and real estate investors from New York to Seattle to Southern California call him to learn about the rules of code section 1031 and how to defer capital gain taxes. Phil enjoys and thrives on assisting and educating people about 1031 Exchanges.  He also speaks regularly at Board of REALTORS® continuing education functions, and has long served in various Board of Director and official capacities for the Escrow Associates of the San Gabriel Valley.
Phil began his career in 1982 in marketing and sales with a large title insurance company, and transitioned to a 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange focus in 1998. He grew up in Pasadena, California, and now lives in Whittier where he and his wife enjoy their three children and three grandchildren.

She wrote the economic development strategy for the city of Whittier as well as developed a Local Economic Stimulus and Business Assistance Plan to help businesses during the recession. The success of the Plan resulted in the city being named the “Most Business Friendly City in Los Angeles County” in the category of large cities by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation in November 2012.
