Enjoy a fun filled evening with auto care industry colleagues as we install new officers, celebrate our successes, listen to our keynote speaker Malcolm Sissmore from Delphi Product & Service Solutions and support CAWA Memorial Scholarship Fund with a live auction. All proceeds from the event go towards the Association's scholarship fund.  A must do to start off Industry Week!

Key Note Speaker:  Malcolm Sissmore-        North America Sales Director for Delphi’s replacement parts sales to the Traditional Aftermarket. He is also the Sales Director for Diagnostic Tools, Service Data and Training.

"Emerging Automotive Technologies and Telematics Capabilities, and their effect on the aftermarket service and repair industry"

The US and Canadian Governments are working to mandate the car companies to produce 54.5 MPG- 4.3lt p/100KM vehicles by 2024.  That is almost double the current rates and this regulation will drive significant change in vehicle design, specifically how it is powered.  Seatbelts and airbags save lives and are now mandatory on every car. New Active-Safety technologies are also saving lives and the adoption into mainstream vehicles is growing rapidly.

These emerging technologies are increasing the electrification and connectivity capabilities of the vehicle, beyond simple two way telematics communications between the vehicle and the OEM & the New Car Dealer; there is increasing connectivity between Vehicles to Vehicles (V2), Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) Vehicle to Pedestrian (V2P) or at Delphi we call it V2E -Vehicle to Everything!

Car repair and maintenance is going to change as well, with emerging aftermarket technologies, our technicians and service center operators of today, must have the opportunity to acquire the tools and training required to diagnose and repair vehicles.

Connected vehicles present both threats and opportunities to the aftermarket, collectively working with all industry stakeholders, we can ensure that the future spells Opportunity not Threat!  Our trade associations are taking lead rolls in helping to design the relationship between the vehicle data, the Intelligent Transportation System and our traditional aftermarket service professionals.
