Young Lawyers' CLE: Black Lives Matter & The Jewish Community

This class is free and open to the public

Speakers:
Emily Sweet, Executive Director of JCRC & Government Affairs
Pastor Chris Harris, Bright Star Church Chicago

Moderator: Gail Eisenberg, Dentons US LLP

This class will explore the Black Lives Matter Movement and its history, structure, and platform.  We will delve into its platform and explore the likelihood of legislative, judicial, or executive legal changes associated with their demands.  We will also discuss the implications of the movement’s condemnation of Israel as an apartheid state and what such terms mean under international law.

Materials will be emailed prior to the class. We recommend bringing your laptop or tablet with you, or printing out the materials ahead of time. Hardcopies will not be distributed at the class.
