NAMI Nevada Annual Meeting

and Community Discussion

"Crisis Centers in Nevada...Time to Act"

Please join us on October 6th for breakfast presentation and panel discussion on the many benefits (both human and financial) of having community "walk-in" crisis centers. Voluntary crisis centers provide mental health intervention to individuals who are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.  Crisis centers would help with the diversion of individuals from unneccessary emergency room visits and/or incarceration, and provide access to services to remain safely in the community.  Families would have a safe place to bring a loved one who is experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.  Various crisis center models are used across the nation--we will have speakers and examples to share.  Currently, Nevada has no community-based, voluntary walk-in mental health/substance use crisis centers.  Our dire state mental health statistics show that crisis centers would help tremendously with access to care issues, and ease the burden on the ER's and law enforcement and save money!

This event is a fundraiser for NAMI Nevada.  Your support will help our efforts to fulfill our mission to provide our signature FREE mental health education programs to communities throughout the state.  There will be a raffle at the conclusion of this event. To help support our efforts, we ask for your generous support by purchasing raffle tickets on the day of the event--or by making a donation to NAMI Nevada.   NAMI Nevada is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

At the conclusion of the breakfast presentation, NAMI Nevada will conduct its Annual Meeting which will begin at 10:00 a.m.  We encourage all current NAMI Nevada members to attend. There is no charge to attend the annual meeting.
