Mental Health First Aid

Have you ever struggled to help a friend or loved one with mental health problems?
Are you a provider who encounters mental health issues on a regular basis?

Join us to learn more about the most common myths and facts about mental illness and violence. Mental Health First Aid can be an important early intervention strategy for individuals experiencing the signs and symptoms of mental illness.
This training will help providers and members of the community respond to individuals who are experiencing an emotional or mental health challenges. You'll learn a five-step action plan designed to help you spot signs of depression, eating disorders, psychosis, substance abuse and anxiety; provide emergency assistance; and link to professional services.
This course is designed for adults who regularly interact with adolescents (teachers, school staff, coaches, youth group leader, parents, hospital staff, faith communities, law enforcement). The core Mental health First Aid has been successfully offered to more than 100,000 people across the USA.  

Registration fee: $15.00 (nonrefundable). Payment must received by 9/30/16 to finalize registration.

October 3 and 4, 2016: 9AM- 1PM on both days **MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS**

Attendees that fulfill the eight hour course will be certified “Mental Health First Aiders” and given a certificate of completion.
