VISIONARY MARIN 2016

November 3rd, 6-8:30pm

The Marin Interfaith Council's 11th Annual Visionary Marin will honor Abbess Fu Schroeder of the Green Gulch Farm Zen Center & Bishop Johnathan Logan Sr. , Pastor of Cornerstone Community Church of God in Christ, Marin City. The fundraiser will feature culinary delights, a drawing, a silent auction, program, music, and reflections from our honorees. Come join us Thursday, November 3, 2016 for a celebratory evening at the Mill Valley Community Center

Abbess Fu Schroeder  ~ Furyu Nancy Schroeder, a resident of Zen Center for over 35 years, became abiding abbess at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center in March 2014. Fu has held most of the monastic positions at Zen Center and has been an active supporter of programs for children, people of color, the gay and lesbian community, and the interfaith community. In 2008 she was elected to the Marin Women's Hall of Fame, and in 2010 she was appointed to the Board of the Marin Community Foundation. In addition, she has previously co-led Zen Center's Contemplative Caregiver Course. She received dharma transmission from Tenshin Reb Anderson in 1999.

Bishop Johnathan Logan Sr. ~ Bishop Johnathan D. Logan, Sr. knew from a very young age that he was destined to be a minister of the Gospel.  Called into the preaching ministry at the age of 19, Bishop Logan’s career in ministry spans more than 40 years, of which 32 have been spent as senior pastor of the Cornerstone Community Church of God in Christ in Marin City, California.  He also serves as the Jurisdictional Prelate of the Greater Northern California Second Jurisdiction, Church of God in Christ, Inc.  Bishop Logan is a member the Board Operations Council of Hospice by the Bay and President of the "Making Opportunities Possible Project", a non-profit organization he founded in 2000.  Bishop Logan is happily married to his wife of 37 years, Dr. Carolyn Logan.  He has five children and six grandchildren.
