September 2016 Student Forum Meeting

Neuro-Economics: Using the Science Behind Your Client’s Challenging Money Behaviors for Course Corrections

Meeting Description

Student Forum Meetings are intended for those students at UCSC-Extension who are enrolled in the Personal Financial Planning Program and for members of the Financial Planning Association (any chapter).  These meetings are not open to the public.

Our clients know what they “should be doing” to stay on course for retirement savings. If they have under saved, they know that they “need” to save more, or reduce their current spending. And, yet their actions often do not support their wise knowing. This presentation will help bridge the gap between “knowing and doing,” and offer practical practice applications to re-engage your client on their desired financial path, helping them to achieve their goals.

Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system, and especially the relationship to behavior and learning. The application of this discipline offers powerful tools to the financial advisor who is working to move clients towards their goals. This presentation will offer the latest neuroscience and course corrections…to get your client to save what is needed for retirement…to support your clients in discovering “what enough really is,” and to increase their engagement in their long term financial plan.

This dynamic session will be a joint session between the Silicon Valley FPA Brown Bag Lunch Group, and the UCSC-Extension Personal Financial Planning Student Forum Group.
