R. Scott Hill, Wage & Hour Investigator with the Department of Labor  

R. Scott Hill is a Wage and Hour Investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor. He enforces a variety of Federal labor standards laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, The Migrant and Seasonal Workers Act and others.

Scott has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota and a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. As an attorney, he was a prosecutor in the Midwest and the Northeast before becoming a partner in a private practice firm in Massachusetts. Following his retirement from the legal profession after twenty years, he worked as a senior claims representative for a national insurance company before he became a Peace Corps volunteer, during which he served in the eastern Caribbean and Kenya.

Gail E. Farb, Counsel at Williams, Parker, Harrison, Dietz & Getzen 

Gail Farb has extensive experience in the area of labor and employment law. She advises private and public sector management clients regarding preventive measures in employment and labor law matters involving:

• Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
• Wage and hour issues
• Restrictive covenants
• Whistleblower laws
• Family and Medical Leave Act
• Labor relations
• Layoffs and plant closings
• Occupational Safety and Health Act

Gail balances business and local government needs with legal risks and defends single-plaintiff cases and collective actions in administrative, state, and federal court proceedings.

She designs and revises employee handbooks and policies; reviews employment, restrictive covenant, confidentiality, severance, and settlement agreements; assists clients with employee hiring, promotion, accommodation, counseling, discipline, layoff, and termination issues; conducts workplace investigations; and develops corporate compliance programs. She also represents management in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration.
